Guidance
The Guidance Counselor’s role consists of helping children to assess their inner ability to learn. The main goal of the counselor is to keep a finger on the “pulse of student self-esteem.” Additional services focus on assisting students and families in crisis; providing intervention and/or prevention programs; and teach age appropriate workshops in groups or within the classroom. This allows opportunities for students to develop an understanding of themselves; to learn effective decision-making and conflict resolution; meet their educational goals; and to develop a positive attitude about relationships. The counselor reports to the School Principal.
Programs coordinated through the Guidance office include:
- Rainbows
- Admission Testing/Screening
- Standardize Testing Coordinator
- OLV Ambassadors
- JHU-CTY Program
- Values Codes
- Educational
- Management Team, and more…
